Lo3 - setting up PhotoShop

Setting up my front cover

This screenshot presents how my front cover document was set up regarding height, width, resolution, media, colour and background choice.

I decided to make my front cover a standard A4 portrait print document since when looking into other media packs for equestrian magazines it was a re-occurring theme that the pages were fairly slim and long - therefore, I went with a 297 Millimetres height and 210 Width.

The resolution is of 300 pixels to ensure that my document is lossless. Since my magazine is a print based product, I need it to be of a high quality as the printed version will most likely come out slightly bigger than the digital version - meaning, I need the document to have lots of pixels to ensure that my front cover can expand when being printed bigger.

I wanted the background to be transparent to give me a clean slate to work off, by using a transparent background I'll also not get confused by having other colour in the background.

Lastly the document is in RGB colour mode since I'll be using a range of different, pastel, earthy colour I need to ensure that they're captured perfectly in the document and when printed.
