Front cover contact sheet from photoshoot no.1.
Some of these photos were taken using a Canon DSLR camera and others were taken using an iPhone X on portrait mode which does have a very high quality. I took the photos using different devices since the Canon camera died and I didn't have time to charge it's battery. The photo's i'm considering using on my front cover are images 1,11,14,15,19 and 2 as I think they look the most professional and visually appealing to look at due to the white space in the background and ability to clearly denote my model and her horse. These images are also conventional to stereotypical equestrian main cover image regarding poses and actions such as jumping and actually being on top of the horse, contrasting from the others where my model is standing with Rocky against a background that makes it hard to see clearly what is what.
Double page spread and contents page contact sheet from photoshoot no.1
Again, since these photos were taken during the same shoot as my front cover images, some of the photos were taken using a Canon DSLR camera and others were taken using an iPhone X on portrait mode which does have a very high quality. I took the photos using different devices since the Canon camera died and I didn't have time to charge it's battery. The photo's i'm considering using on my double page spread are images 4,2,3,11,5 and 16 as this page needs to include multiple different images to accompany the different sections such as the 'riding' sections, which images 5,3 and 2 will mostly likely be used. I'll also be needing images for the 'horse care' section which will most likely include images 11 and 16 to show how her horse is tacked up and so on when within the stable area. I'm using these photos as I think they look the most professional and visually appealing to look at due to the white space in the background and ability to clearly denote my model and her horse. For the contents page of my magazine, I'll be using either image 1,2 or 3. As my idea to have multiple images on my contents page has changed and I'd now just like one main photo, which I think these photos are a suitable size for as they're landscape rather than portrait.
Front cover contact sheet from photoshoot no.2
This is my second photo-shoot for my front cover since I learned through client feedback that my photos weren't of a good enough quality, due to this, I ensured to bring a second fully charged camera battery with me in case the same problem that happened with my first shoot when my camera died didn't happen again. The quality of these photos is much better in comparison to my first shoot not only because I used a Canon DSLR to take all of my photos this time but I had also figured out how to adjust the camera settings in a way that made my photos look better such adjusting the brightness and contrast. I will be using either image 13,14,16,17 or 23 as my main cover image as I think they look the most professional and visually appealing as the horse is looking in my direction aswell as Frankie which gives a really nice effect, I also ensured to take the photos against a background which denotes a view of Sheffield to appeal to my Sheffield based audience and generally give a visually appealing area of white space to look at.
